Discount Card Wallet is made by MobArts Ltd. It keeps your loyalty, membership and discount cards on your iPhone and iPad so you can show them at a checkout. The app is free to download, with an optional paid upgrade called Pro.

This policy describes what the app does with information. It is short because the app does little: it has no accounts, no servers of ours, and no advertising.

The short version

• There is no account and no sign-up. We never learn who you are.
• Your cards stay on your device and, if you switch it on, in your own iCloud. We cannot read them.
• The app sends five anonymous counters so we can see which features are used. They contain no card names and no card numbers.
• There is no advertising in the app and no advertising software in it.
• Nothing is sold, rented or shared with anyone.

Your cards

A card in the app holds the name you give it, the code you scanned or typed, the format of that code, the design you picked, whether you marked it a favourite, your display preferences for it, its position in the list, and the date you added it. Nothing else.

Cards are stored on your device. If iCloud is enabled for the app, they are also synchronised through Apple's CloudKit into the private database of your own iCloud account (the container is named iCloud.com.mobarts.DiscountCards). A private database is readable only by the iCloud account that owns it: MobArts has no access to it, and Apple's design does not give developers access to it.

We operate no server that holds your cards. There is nowhere for us to look, and nothing for us to lose.

You can delete a card in the app at any time. Deleting the app removes the cards from that device; to remove them from iCloud as well, switch the app off under iOS Settings → your name → iCloud, or delete its data there.

The camera and your photos

The camera is used for one thing: reading a barcode or QR code while you add a card. If you would rather pick a photograph that already contains the code, the app asks for access to your photo library so you can choose one.

The picture is read on the device itself, by Apple's Vision framework. The app does not keep the image and does not send it anywhere. Only the code it finds becomes part of the card, and only if you save it.

Anonymous usage statistics

The app uses TelemetryDeck (TelemetryDeck GmbH) to count how it is used. It sends exactly five kinds of event, and these are all of them:

• Onboarding completed — no further detail.
• Card added — together with the format of the code, for example "QR Code" or "EAN-13". Never the code itself and never the name you gave the card.
• Pro screen shown — together with which part of the app led to it.
• Purchase completed — together with which product was bought.
• Purchases restored — no further detail.

TelemetryDeck adds ordinary technical detail of its own: the version of the app, the version of iOS, the device model and the language. It does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), which is why the app never shows you the "Allow tracking?" prompt.

No card name, no card number, no photograph, no email address and no name of yours is ever part of these events.

The app currently has no setting to switch these counters off.

Purchases

Pro is sold by Apple through the App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple: the app never sees your payment card, your billing address or your Apple Account. What the app asks Apple is a single question — whether a purchase is currently active — and that answer is what unlocks Pro.

Subscriptions are managed and cancelled in Apple's own settings, not in this app.

Notifications

The app does not send you notifications. It holds Apple's push permission for one purpose only: so that iCloud can tell it that your cards have changed on another device.

Everyone who receives anything

• Apple — for iCloud synchronisation and for App Store purchases.
• TelemetryDeck — for the anonymous counters described above.

That is the complete list. There are no advertising networks, no data brokers and no other analytics.

Children

The app is rated 4+ and collects no personal information from anybody, children included. There is no account, no profile, no messaging and no way for one user to see another user's content.

Your rights

Because we never receive information that identifies you, there is nothing held about you for us to send you, correct or erase on request. Your cards are in your own hands: you can see all of them in the app, change any of them, and delete them.

If you believe something here is wrong, or you want to ask what happens to a particular piece of information, write to us and a person will answer.

Security

Your cards do not travel to us, so the usual risk — a company losing a database of customer data — does not exist here. What is on your device is protected by iOS and your passcode; what is in iCloud is protected by your Apple Account. Both are worth keeping to yourself.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot promise otherwise.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page and the date at the top changes with it. It is worth looking here again if you want to be sure.
